Last Day of Classes
Today was the last day of classes of my first semester of law school. @_@ Time has flown… but I feel like I know a LOT more now than I did three months ago.  Heck, before I started law school, I didn’t even know what a “holding” was, or about the separation of federal and state courts  -___-  I’ve learned this all the hard way, and it hasn’t been easy. AND...

'Ello, Memo
Hello, memo.  It’s nice to see you again after a week of forgetting that you exist. You see, I pretty much finished my final memo for legal research last week (aside from a point or two my professor suggested I add) and stopped working on it in favor of the 200 pages of torts reading I was somehow supposed to do this week.  Actually, though, coming back to it now and rereading it has really...

Microsoft Word and Legalese
Why, why in the world, is there no “LAW” language option for word?!  Maybe THEN Word would stop marking “joinder” and “implede” as misspelled -__-

Study Saturday
Today, I will study like I haven’t studied all year.  I am going to sit here in this library and finish my memo, finish Monday’s reading, and then use tomorrow to get ahead and start organizing myself for finals. I WILL PREVAIL. The only thing that will tempt me away from my work shall be a frappucinno.  Yes, that sounds quite lovely ^__^

Tip #3: Make a Checklist
An upper-level student, the leader of a review workshop for one of my classes, gave us a tip during our session the other day that I think is SO USEFUL.  It may seem completely obvious, but I definitely didn’t think of it until she pointed it out. In summary:  For open book essay exams that are issue spotters, where you have to identify the issues that need to be analyzed in a fact pattern...
